A Beginner’s Guide to Growing Australian Native Plants
When it comes to the written word, a great deal of material is prepared by those who know what they are doing for those who know what they are doing. As such the poor novices often finds themselves in deep water when it comes to understanding the message that is conveyed. Not so with A Beginner’s Guide to Growing Australian Native Plants. Over the years we have planted many natives and some grew successfully while other withered without obvious reason.
When reading the book, it quickly became clear that our knowledge of growing natives was severely limited. With over 100 pages of information to digest gaining the required knowledge wasn’t going to be instant. But with the easy-to-read way that the information is presented it is possible to either go from beginning to end or with the help of the index select what is required at the time. In our case more time will need to be spent on soil preparation an understanding of climate before buying our next native trees or bushes.
To suggest that the book is comprehensive would be an understatement. I’m sure that anyone can become quite successful in growing natives if we followed the steps provided.
