Virginia Nursery: Adelaide’s Premier Garden Centre

Since its inception in 2002, Virginia Nursery has grown, leaf by leaf, into the largest retail garden centre in South Australia.

Nestled in the heart of South Australia, Virginia Home & Garden offers a green retreat for plant lovers, gardening enthusiasts, and families alike.

Bursting with biodiversity and home to an array of gardening supplies, it’s a destination that offers far more than your average garden centre.

Overview and History

Sprouting from humble beginnings, Virginia Nursery emerged from the vision of founder Jim Gencheff, an accomplished vegetable grower. Born as a family business in 1992, the reins were grasped by Jim’s sons Chad and Marcus, guiding the nursery towards a burgeoning future.

Originally serving as a wholesale nursery supplying vegetable seedlings, the business broadened its roots to include native trees, saltbush and Blue gum seedlings, responding to the increasing demand for salination control.

Since its inception in 2002, Virginia Nursery has grown, leaf by leaf, into the largest retail garden centre in South Australia.

Throughout its evolution, the nursery remained true to the founders’ vision, offering a myriad of greenlife, water features, pots, and gardening accessories that cater to a diverse clientele.

The garden centre recently unfurled an exciting new chapter with the addition of “Stella’s Home and Gifts”, “Stella’s Kitchenware”, and “Doncho’s Café Lounge”, adding charm to its diverse offerings.
